So Ascendant is the sequel to Rampant, the story of the killer unicorns and Astrid, a unicorn hunter.
In Ascendant, Astrid goes through hell and back again. No longer is she the scared child she once was, instead she questions everything she has come to know. I am having a really hard time writing this review because A) I don't want to reveal too much and B) right now, having literally just finished it, all I can think or say is Oh. My. God. This book was AWESOME! I was torn between feeling bad for Astrid, wanting to "stop being an idiot!", and wanting to cry for the unicorns. So I will just say this, if you have read Rampant, you MUST read Ascendant. This book brings adventure, emotion, and most of all answers that you will NEVER believe! Hats off to Diana Peterfreund. You, Madame, are an AMAZING storyteller and I look forward to reading anything and everything you write.
